Artistic Journey

Rebecca de Cachard grew up in an artistic environment, daughter of the writer Françoise Lefèvre and the painter Raya Sorkine. At 18, she entered the School of Fine Arts in Beaune, where she trained in painting, wood sculpture, and ornamentation. After an experience at the Drama Conservatory in Dijon, she dedicated herself fully to painting.
Her work belongs to the tradition of lyrical abstraction, influenced by artists such as Hans Hartung, Georges Mathieu, Jackson Pollock, Joan Mitchell, and Sam Francis. She favors an intuitive approach, where gesture, color, and emotion merge on the canvas. Her compositions, often executed in a horizontal format, reflect a constant pursuit of freedom and personal expression.
