Artistic career
Daniel Spoerri began his career in dance and theatre before turning to visual arts. In 1960, he developed his signature technique: the "snare-pictures" (tableaux-pièges), which involve fixing the remains of a meal or a daily moment onto a table or vertical surface, preserving the imprint of real life.
Spoerri joined the Nouveau Réalisme movement and participated in many international exhibitions, sharing with other artists the idea of reintegrating the everyday into art. He also founded experimental museums and art festivals, promoting art as a social and conceptual experience.
